Foo Fighters are making the most of their time in New York this week. The band’s fun continued with the second night of their week-long ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ residency and also worked in a post-Letterman appearance at a Danny Clinch photo book celebration.
First up, the Foo Fighters welcomed Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart for a rocking rendition of the track ‘Kick
It Out’ on the Ed Sullivan Theater stage. A joyous David Letterman greeted the
sisters and thanked Foo Fighters for bringing out their latest guests. The
Wilson sisters will be part of Foo Fighters’ HBO documentary series, ‘Sonic
Highways,’ which debuts on HBO this Friday.
As previously stated, the series will follow Foo Fighters as they hit
some of the biggest music scenes in the U.S. and get the lowdown on each town
from the respective acts that helped shape the scene. Ann and Nancy Wilson, of
course, were big in helping to grow the Seattle music scene over the years.
Also, Foo Fighters decided to have a little post-show fun after Monday’s
performance on ‘Letterman’ with Zac Brown, heading to New York’s McKittick Hotel
where photographer Danny Clinch was holding a party for his ‘Danny Clinch:
Still Moving’ book. Clinch performed a covers set with his Tangiers Blues Band
at the event, and welcomed such guests as Dave Grohl
and Taylor
Hawkins from Foo Fighters, Jesse Malin, Jane’s
Addiction‘s Perry Farrell and his wife Etta to join in on the
fun. They rocked out such classics as the Rolling Stones‘ ‘Miss You’ and Bob Dylan‘s ‘From a Buick 6.’
Also in attendance at the bash was Courtney
Love, who according to PageSix.com was spotted
having a good time with her onetime foe Dave Grohl. According to the site’s
report, the pair were seen laughing, crying and hugging while knocking back a
few tequila shots. The pair were also reportedly overheard making a $10,000 bet
on who could get the most strippers at Scores. Though the pair didn’t follow
through on the bet that night, Love later tweeted that the bet was still on at
a later date out west.
