Lady Gaga is about to embrace her inner Mother Monster! The “Applause” singer, 28, announced her new role in American Horror Story season 5 on Twitter on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
The pop star also revealed this upcoming season’s title and theme will be “Hotel.” Posting a video to Twitter, Gaga wears a thick black mask as she says, “American Horror Story season 5,” before taking the mask off and whispering, “Hotel!” She captioned the video, “Make your reservation now. #GagaAHSHotel.”

Entertainment Weekly reported that the Grammy winner will be a season regular in the FX thriller series, created by Ryan Murphy. (Season 4, Freak Show, wrapped up last month, and followed previous iterations Asylum and Coven.) And sources tell TVLine that she “will very much be the star of the latest chapter.”
The series needs a new leading lady after two-time Oscar winner Jessica Lange announced her plans to exit the series following the finale of last season’s Freak Show.
The big news comes just days after Gaga made headlines for a potentially career-defining performance at the 2015 Oscars. The “Bad Romance” crooner was widely praised for her Sound of Music tribute medley, which brought the A-list crowd to its feet and prompted Julie Andrews to come on stage and give her a hug.
